Central Railway Model & Historical Association Annual Show in Easley, SC held in February 26-27, 2011. We combined all of the club modules, plus Mike's home modules, plus 3 of Mike Hahn's modules for an excellent run of about 5 minutes around. The show was well-attended, with a number of folks lingering to ask detailed questions about the layout and the hobby in general. The Anderson Independent-Mail also gave us a good write-up and some more photos.
World's Greatest Hobby on Tour in Atlanta (Cobb Galleria), February 12 and 13, 2011. Setup was on February 11. We combined our club modules, plus Mike's home modules with the Athens Bend Track club to create a huge layout (see diagram below). It was a good show with excellent attendance.
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday (December 18th-20th) we set up and ran the layout at the Chapman Cultural Center in Spartanburg, in the lobby of the theater where The Polar Express was being shown. Our layout was the standard NTRAK+transition+logging+JohnsLoop. We had an excellent crowd with many questions and high interest levels, due in part to excellent press coverage.
We had a good show in Hendersonville, NC at the Autumn Rails 2010 sponsored by the French Broad E'N'pire NTRAK Club on Saturday, October 9, 2010. We were set up in a mezzanine area, so we had a good view of the show floor.
We had a great show in Mauldin, SC for the Chamber of Commerce's Trains, Trains & More Trains event, over several days between Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 22, 2010. The show was well-attended, with a steady stream of visitors. We shared the show with a huge S-Gauge layout built by the Atlantic Coast S Gaugers - Carolinas Division. The Roper Mountain Science Center's Engineer-It Days original date (January 17, 2010) was cancelled due to weather. This event was rescheduled for May 8, from 9am to 2:30pm and merged with their Spring Fest event. Click [here for more information].
The 2010 Athens Community Council on Aging RailRoad Days show, held on April 17 in Athens, GA was a big success. The layout configuration was the same as used for the NMRA Layout Tour 2010.
We participated in the NMRA Palmetto Division layout tour on March 27, with the layout below assembled in John's garage. It features 7 original NTrak modules (with mountain line), the transition module (including mountain line), the new sawmill module (combination NTrak and Bend Track), and John's new loop, which has connections for both.
This show was held in Easley, SC on February 27-28, 2010. The layout we assembled featured all of the club's original N-Trak modules, our two new transition modules, several of Mike's Bend Track modules, and modules from Michael Hahn of the Athens club. The transition modules connect the Bend Track with the N-Trak, including the mountain line!
The layout ran very smoothly, with up to 9 trains operating at once! Definitely demonstrated the power and flexibility of DCC, and highlighted the planning, wiring, track-laying and construction skills of the club.
